Saturday's roundup: Walker's 44 points lead Romulus

Romulus defeated host Indianapolis Cathedral 78-73 in an outstate contest Saturday afternoon.

Jaylin Walker had a career-high 44 points and eight rebounds for Romulus.

D'Angelo Hansbro added 14 points in the win.

It was a tight contest until the fourth quarter with Romulus holding just a 54-52 lead.

Romulus improves to 14-5.

Birmingham Brother Rice 71, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 43: In a Catholic League tournament game at Marian High, Kevin Hayes scored 17, Davis Feldman added 14 and Drew Gallagher 12 for Brother Rice (12-5).

Detroit Consortium 81, Dearborn Heights Crestwood 40: C.J. Figuroa scored 16 and Lester Johnson 15 for Consortium. Esa Abdulajami scored 16 for Crestwood (12-5).

Harper Woods Chandler Park Academy 68, Dearborn Henry Ford Academy 35, Jalen Martin had 21 points and 16 rebounds for Chandler Park (13-6). Martin was also named the Charter School Player of the Year. Kyle Harper had 12 points for Henry Ford.

Riverview Gabriel Richard 50, Clarkston Everest Collegiate 31: Antoney Brown had 14 points and Jake Lipetzky 12 for Gabriel Richard (12-5).

Southfield Bradford Academy 66, Romulus Summit Academy 43: Quantasquan Ruffin had 24 points for Bradford (12-6). DeAndre Walker had 18 for Summit (9-9).

University Prep 73, Michigan Collegiate 61 (OT): In the Charter League quarterfinals at Summit Academy, Terrance Bowens had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Tremaine Brown added 15 points and eight rebounds for University Prep (11-4). Damon Osley scored 17 for Michigan Collegiate (10-5).

Boys hockey

Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood 6, Warren De La Salle 2: C.J. Regula scored twice and Austin Alger had four assists for Cranbrook (16-2-4).
