Sterling Heights Stevenson rode a nine-run fifth inning to a 13-1 victory over host Utica Eisenhower Thursday.

Trailing 1-0 going into the fourth inning, Stevenson took the lead with four runs in the top of the frame, then opened things up in the next.

Bases-clearing doubles by Devon Dudal and Mario Camilletti put Stevenson up by enough runs to end the game by way of a mercy after five innings in the rubber match of the series.

"(Runs) came in bunches today," coach Joe Emanuele said. "I think we wore them out and got to them a bit."

Stevenson pitcher Riley McCauley also was impressive, allowing only one hit and three baserunners to go with 13 strikeouts.

"He was getting all of his pitches over," Emanuele said.
