Saturday's roundup: Notre Dame Prep takes two

Joey Vyskocil had four hits and drove in three runs to lead Pontiac Notre Dame Prep to a doubleheader sweep over Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood on Saturday.

In the opener, Notre Dame defeated Cranbrook-Kingswood 9-2.

Mark Marrone tossed four scoreless innings while allowing only one hit and striking out three for his third win of the season.

Ben Mancini came on to pitch the final four innings to earn the save.

In the nightcap, Will Mullen threw a three hit complete game with 13 strikeouts to give the Irish a 4-1 victory.

Notre Dame improves to 9-8-1.

Rochester 6-8, Macomb L'Anse Creuse North 2-2: In the first game, Tyler Frankhouse went 3-for-3 with two doubles and Mitch Weber went 2-for-3 with a homer for Rochester. In the second game, Thomas Loftus tossed a two-hit complete game for the win and Mitch Weber and Dominic Cockell each had three hits for Rochester (13-3).

Detroit Country Day 4-3, Oxford 5-1: In the opener, Nate Olson went 3-for-3 and Devon Davenport tossed 2.1 innings of two-hit relief for the win for Oxford (6-6). Jeremiah Tyler and Devin Beech had two hits for Country Day. In the nightcap, Tyler went six innings with eight strikeouts for the win and Mike MacLean had three hits for Country Day (4-9).

Novi 6, Farmington 1: Noah Matthews threw three innings for the win and Scott Beaton went 4-for-4 with two RBIs for Novi (6-8).

Lake Orion 7, Novi 1: Cameron Weaver went 3-for-3 with three RBIs for Lake Orion. Scott Beaton had two hits for Novi.

Warren De La Salle 4-9, Detroit Catholic Central 0-2: In the first game, Zack Zschering threw a complete game with three strikeouts and Nick Taruso had two RBIs for De La Salle. In the nightcap, Charles Duavan also pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts and Chris Adsit went 3-for-4 with two RBI for De La Salle (8-9).
