Austin Sophiea's two-run double highlighted a four-run third inning as Royal Oak shut out Warren Mott, 5-0, in a Division 1 pre-district baseball game Tuesday night.

Dylan Dzendzel pitched five scoreless innings, striking out 12 and allowing just two hits on 104 pitches.

Dave Lundeen came in for Dzendzel (6-1) to start the sixth inning and picked up the last six outs of the game.

"We got some really good pitching today and we got some timely hits," Royal Oak coach Greg Porter said. "We put the ball in play and took advantage of our opportunites."

Royal Oak (20-8) moves on face Troy Athens in Saturday's district semifinal.

Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett 3, Madison Heights Bishop Foley 1: Matt Gushee pitched a complete-game two-hitter and struck out four. Nick Azar, Joey Cipriano and Noah Miller drove in runs for Liggett (20-11). Bishop Foley finishes 18-8.

New Baltimore Anchor Bay 2, Macomb L'Anse Creuse North 0: Whitney Fleming and Izzy Bertolini were the goal scorers for Anchor Bay (13-2-3). L'Anse Creuse North finishes 13-4-2.

Division 4 pre-district

Auburn Hills Oakland Christian 17, Pontiac Academy for Excellence 0: Victoria Lucido had five goals and three assists, Lilly Gould had three goals and two assists, Alyssa Leitch had two goals, and Annie-Marie Goddard scored twice for Oakland Christian (12-3-1).

Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood 16, Flint Powers Catholic 4: Riley Matthews had five goals and three assists, and Greg Aikens had four goals and an assist for Cranbrook-Kingswood. Reed Macksood had a goal and an assist for Powers Catholic.

Orchard Lake St. Mary's 4, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 3: Nathan Fagnani had a goal and an assist for St. Mary's. Ryan Genard had a goal and an assist for Notre Dame.
