It took just three games for visiting Marysville to defeat Harrison Township L’Anse Creuse in volleyball, but it still had to fight to win the match, 25-15, 25-16, 25-20.

Early on, Marysville had a tough time shutting down L’Anse Creuse and only with the help of its defense was it able to come back and win.

“Our serving was sharp and our service feed was great,” Marysville coach Ryan Welser said.

Hannah Delor compiled 12 kills and eight digs for Marysville (21-2-2, 2-1 MAC Red).

After losing the first two games, L’Anse Creuse had to go for broke, so it changed its strategy, which almost gave Marysville more than it could handle.

“They went with high-risk plays and extremely fast plays, it took us a while to adjust,” said Welser.

It wasn’t until the middle of the third game before Marysville was able to adjust and stifle a would-be comeback.

Mikayla Morgan had 18 digs and Bailey Bounds added nine kills and 17 digs for Marysville.
