Football roundup: Chelsea dominates Allen Park

Allen Park -- Led by senior Jake Bush, Chelsea put on a dominating performance Friday night, beating Allen Park, 35-12 in a Division 3 regional final.

Chelsea scored on five of its eight possessions, the first coming off a 4-yard run by Jacob Somodi with 6:53 left in the first quarter.

Jacob Grob added another score for Chelsea, scampering for a 67-yard touchdown midway through the second quarter to make it 14-0.

Allen Park (10-2) could never get its offense rolling.

Bush finished 16-for-20 with 236 yards and a touchdown, and had two carries for six yards and a touchdown for Chelsea (11-1).

Senior Jacob Scheese had a huge impact for the Bulldogs. After keeping quiet the first half, Scheese finished with three catches for 55 yards and two touchdowns in the second half.

Antonio Mangiapane finished 4-for-10 with 73 yards, and had 15 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown for Allen Park.

Nate Berrelez added seven carries for 17 yards and a touchdown.

Chelsea moves on to face Coldwater, a 20-6 winner over St. Joseph, next week in the semifinals.

River Rouge 51, Algonac 25: Antoine Burgess rushed 23 times for 227 yards and six touchdowns for River Rouge (10-1). Cornelius Mcgill made three tackles, one for loss and returned an interception for a touchdown. Eric Chenault had six tackles. Algonac finishes its season at 11-2.
