Detroit Cass Tech wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones is considered among the best athletes in the 2017 recruiting class.
At The Opening finals last summer in Beaverton, Oregon, Peoples-Jones earned the No. 1 score in the SPARQ testing, which measures 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, kneeling powerball toss and vertical jump.
Peoples-Jones showed that extreme athleticism again during a slam dunk contest at Cass Tech this week, leaping over three other students to complete a high-flying dunk.
Peoples-Jones, by the way, is an uncommitted football prospect but is being recruited by all of the major football powers, including Michigan and Michigan State. He is ranked the No. 3 receiver in the nation by Scout.com and the No. 28 prospect overall in the 2017 class.
His good friend, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s linebacker Josh Ross, committed to Michigan this week. But Peoples-Jones told The Detroit News that would have no impact on where he might decide to play college football.
