In a much drier game than it played last Wednesday, Lake Orion earned its first girls soccer victory of the season Tuesday night, 2-1 over visiting Farmington on Tuesday night.

Paige Goodman and Megan Danielson each had goals for Lake Orion (1-1, 1-1 OAA White), both in the second half.

Taryn Redd made 10 saves.

“It’s like I have two No. 1s,” Lake Orion coach Randy McCoy said, explaining that starting goaltender Lauryn Auspitz played in last week’s 1-0 loss against Berkley. “I’m trying to get everyone in this early in the season.”

The game was scoreless at halftime.

“It was a pretty even game,” McCoy said. “Each team had a few chances, but there was a lot of even play.”

After Goodman scored early in the second half, Dori Payne tied it for Farmington with about 15 minutes left. Danielson scored the winner with seven minutes left.

“My stars scored for me today,” McCoy said.

Lake Orion plays at Oxford on Thursday, while Farmington hosts Rochester.

Mya Douse made seven saves for Farmington (1-1, 1-1).
