Rochester — It’s always a pleasure to see your children succeed, but to coach them brings it to a different level.

That’s just what Farmington head coach Pete Finn got to do as he watched son Collin defeat Rochester 2-1, Thursday.

Collin pitched five innings, striking out eight.

“He was working around the zone, recorded strikeouts with all three pitches,” Pete Finn said.

After his strong performance, Alex Manasa came in to close out the final two innings and pitched out of a jam late.

In the sixth, with runners on first and third, Manasa induced a ground ball and turned a 1-6-3 double play to get out of the inning.

“We made plays when we had to and struck out guys when we needed to,” Finn said.

Manasa provided an RBI double for Farmington (5-1), scoring Alex Magrum, who scored both Farmington runs.

Ben Compton had an RBI double for Rochester (5-2).
