It was only the second perfect game in MHSAA state softball finals history. The first was by Kalamazoo Christian’s Tricia Van Der Slik against Saginaw Swan Valley in the 2002 Division 3 title game.

SMCC pushed across two runs in the third inning on a single by Beaubien, the leadoff hitter.

SMCC kept its 2-0 lead until the fifth, when Kenna Garst had an RBI-double and Grace Mikesell followed with a two-run single to make it 5-0.

Beaubien, Mikesell and Abbey Johnson finished with two hits each.

Grandville Calvin Christian finishes 33-11.
