Unionville-Sebewaining squeezes across run in 6th to win D-4 crown

East Lansing -- Kayla Gremel singled and later scored in the sixth inning as Unionville-Sebewaing defeated Indian River Inland Lakes 1-0 for the Division 4 softball championship Saturday at Secchia Field in East Lansing.

Gremel singled to center to opened the inningh, advanced to second on Alexis Cady’s sacrifice bunt  and made it to third on a wild pitch. She scampered home on Marisa Morton’s grounder to third. Gremel and Cady each had two hits to pace their team's six-hit attack.

Nicole Bauer allowed one hit while striking out 11 in seven scoreless innings pitched for Unionville-Sebewaing (36-7). Makayla Henckel had the lone hit for Inland Lakes (26-3).
