Donovan Peoples-Jones announces college choice Thursday

Detroit Cass Tech receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones, ranked the No. 1 player in the state by The Detroit News, will announce his college choice on Thursday at 8:30 p.m.

Peoples-Jones, who helped Cass Tech win the Division 1 state championship this season, will make his announcement from Detroit’s WXYZ studios, sports anchor Justin Rose wrote on Twitter. The announcement will be broadcast on ESPN.

Peoples-Jones’ finalists in his recruitment are Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Florida and Florida State.

Peoples-Jones made The Detroit News Dream Team after catching 60 passes for 1,064 yards and 17 TDs this season. As a defensive back he also had four interceptions, returning one for a TD.

The five-star Peoples-Jones is ranked the No. 1 receiver in the Midwest and No. 4 at his position in the nation by Scout.com. He is also the No. 32 overall player in the nation on the Scout 300.

Peoples-Jones made his official visit to Michigan this past weekend. He is rated the No. 11 overall recruit overall in the 2017 class by the 247Sports composite rankings.
