Monday’s roundup: DCP’s Harris records triple-double
Kennedy Harris pulled off a rare feat for Detroit Collegiate Prep-Northwestern in a 75-10 win over Detroit Central Collegiate in a Detroit Public School League West Division 2 girls basketball game Monday night.
Harris recorded a triple-double without scoring double digit in points, instead recording 12 rebounds, 11 assists and 10 steals for Northwestern (5-1, 3-0).
“It’s been a few years, but I’ve seen it before,” Northwestern coach Orlando Watkins said. “(Harris) is a really unselfish player. It’s about getting the team involved, and that’s what we’re trying to do over here.”
Ajanee Horton had a game-high 28 points, while Nikia Cordell scored 18 and Ericka Smith 15 for Northwestern.

Detroit Denby 49, Detroit International Academy 15: Asiah Hayes and Jamila Gortman had 16 points each, and Kendal Taylor had 15 points and seven assists for Denby (5-1, 2-0 PSL East Div. 2).
Detroit East English 69, Southfield Bradford 24: C’Erra Maholmes had 31 points, Jayla Smith had 15 points and 12 assists, and Jordan Witchers scored 12 for East English (6-1).
Detroit King 73, Detroit Mumford 39: Alicia Norman had 19 points and Del-Janae Williams 14 for King (6-0). Shardye Yharbough scored 12 for Mumford (7-2).
Detroit Osborn 35, Detroit Pershing 34: Alexis Edwards had 12 points and Caprice Edwards had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Osborn (2-2, 1-1 PSL East Div. 1).
Detroit Renaissance 66, Detroit Henry Ford 19: Victoria Wright scored 14, and Dalyn Henderson and Nina Reynolds had 10 apiece for Renaissance (5-0, 3-0 PSL West Div. 1). Henry Ford is 3-3, 0-2.
Detroit Southeastern 37, Detroit West Side 17: Erica Pruitt had 18 points for Southeastern (4-2).
North Farmington 51, Birmingham Seaholm 26: Kierra Crockett had 13 points, 10 rebounds and seven steals, and Sophie Muller had 11 points and 11 rebounds for North Farmington (4-2). Seaholm is 0-6.
Boys basketball
Detroit Hope 67, Westland Universal Learning 36: Darius Whitehead had 26 points and Luis Rivera 17 for Hope (1-4).
Harper Woods 75, Pontiac Academy for Excellence 46: Jovon Horton scored 20 and A.J. Wilson 14 for Harper Woods (3-1).
Walled Lake Central 64, Waterford Kettering 25: Runako Ziegler scored 18 for Central (4-1). Travis Frazier had 13 for Kettering (0-5).
