Saturday's roundup: Michigan Collegiate rolls to conference tournament semis

Jordan Davis had 13 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists to lead Warren Michigan Collegiate in an 83-24 quarterfinals victory over Dearborn Heights Star Academy in the Charter School Conference tournament Saturday.

Ervin Butler and Antonio Simely each had 15 points, Ty Lawrence had 12 and Emeri Barnes added 10 for Michigan Collegiate (15-2).

"Offensively, we ran the court well," Michigan Collegiate assistant coach Mark Poplawski said. "We got a lot of steals and a lot of turnovers."

Michigan Collegiate advances to play Detroit Old Redford in the semifinals at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Harper Woods Chandler Park Academy. Chandler Park plays Detroit University Prep in the other semifinal at 7 p.m.

More Charter School tournament quarterfinals:

Detroit University Prep 68, Dearborn Henry Ford Academy 25: Tavis Smith scored 18, Terrence Bowens added 15 and Derrick Bryant Jr. 12 for University Prep (13-3). Henry Ford Academy falls to 4-11.

Harper Woods Chandler Park Academy 62, Southfield Bradford 47: Jordan Moore had 17 points and 11 rebounds while Andre Bradford added points 14 for Chandler Park (10-4).


Girls basketball

Macomb Lutheran North 51, Dearborn Divine Child 37: Lauren Mow scored 11 and added Hannah Milligan 10 for Lutheran North (10-6) in a first round Catholic League playoff game. Katy Lewalk scored nine for Divine Child.
