Matchups announced for 2017 Prep Kickoff Classic

The 2017 Prep Kickoff Classic will feature seven high school games Aug. 24-26, including a Saturday triple-header capped by a Detroit Martin Luther King-Indianapolis Cathedral matchup at 6 p.m.

Detroit King is the two-time state Division 2 champion. Indianapolis Cathedral is one of the winningest football teams in the state of Indiana.

The annual event takes place at Wayne State University's Tom Adams Field.

* Walled Lake Western vs. West Bloomfield, 4 p.m.

* Davison vs. Southfield A&T, 7 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 25

* Almont vs. Grosse Ile, 4 p.m.

* Lowell vs. Warren De La Salle, 7 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 26

* East English Village Prep vs. River Rouge, noon

* Oak Park vs. Utica Eisenhower, 3 p.m.

* Detroit Martin Luther King vs. Indianapolis Cathedral, 6 p.m.
