Saturday's prep roundup: S.H. Stevenson takes doubleheader from Salem

Mario Camilletti’s walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh lifted Sterling Heights Stevenson to a 6-5 baseball victory as part of a doubleheader sweep over Salem Saturday.

Stevenson (7-1) won the opener, 9-1, behind the pitching of Johnny Teolis, who went 2-for-4 at the plate with a home run and a double. Dave Bodnar went 1-for-2 with two walks while Camilletti doubled in the first game.

Camilletti’s game-winning hit in the night cap came with bases loaded. Luke McGuire earlier blasted a two-run homer to right center for Stevenson. Bryce Dudal picked up the win, pitching 3½ innings of scoreless relief with two strikeouts.

Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett 5-11, Mount Pleasant 4-0 (5 inn.): Logan King had a two-run double and Alec Azar earned the save in Game 1. Azar had five strikeouts and gave up three hits as the winning pitcher in Game 2 while Connor McCarron had a grand slam to go with five RBIs for Liggett (7-0).

Detroit Country Day 15-11, Oxford 5-0 (5 inns.):  Alex McKeen homered, Nick Neibauer doubled and Steven Mann went 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs for Country Day (9-1) in Game 1. John Malcom, Parker Pilat and Mann (5 RBIs) each doubled while Jackson Berger picked up the win in Game 2.

Farmington 6-8, Clinton Township Chippewa Valley 3-6: In Game 1, Alex Magrum was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI, and Tom Williamson struck out four and gave up three hits over 6-plus innings to earn the win. In Game 2, Artie Bentley was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Deven Mahanti was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Collin Finn had a two-run single for Farmington (6-2).
