4-star Tyrone Sampson to visit Arizona State, Nebraska
Tyrone Sampson could well be playing in the Big Ten next year, just not with Michigan or Michigan State.
Sampson, a four-star center for Detroit East English, will be taking an official visit to Arizona State this weekend, then to Nebraska next weekend, according to his head coach Rod Oden, before making his decision. Signing Day is Feb. 7.
Sampson had originally committed to Syracuse and planned to enroll early before de-committing last month and re-opening his recruitment.
Michigan State showed interest in Sampson last month.
Oden said Sampson, who earned a spot on The News Dream Team, has a relationship with new Nebraska head coach Scott Frost, who had recruited Sampson as offensive coordinator at Oregon (2013-15) and head coach at Central Florida (2016-17).
Frost guided Central Florida to a 13-0 record and Peach Bowl win over Auburn before moving on to Nebraska where he played on Nebraska's national championship team in 1997. Central Florida was the lone unbeaten team in the FBS this season.
Nebraska owns the No. 24 ranked recruiting class, and No. 1 in Big Ten West, according to the 247Sports Composite and Rivals.
