Balanced attack leads Warren De La Salle over Toledo St. John's

Justin Fischer scored 20 points and Luke Pfromm added 19 as Warren De La Salle defeated Toledo St. John's, 68-51, Saturday in boys high school basketball.


The victory was De La Salle's first in five meetings against the Ohio prep powerhouse.

Kole Gjonaj had 11 points and Jordan Winowiecki 10 for De La Salle (9-3), which went 17-of-20 from the free-throw line. Houston King led St. John's (12-3) with 24 points.

"We did a really good job of keeping our composure in their gym," De La Salle coach Greg Esler said. "Anytime they had a little run, we were able to answer back."

Keith Larson also had 10 rebounds for De La Salle, which faces Detroit Catholic Central on Tuesday.
