Nick Rutkowski started the Sterling Heights Stevenson baseball team’s postseason off in style.

Rutkowski tossed a no-hitter with nine strikeouts to lead Stevenson to a 7-0 victory over Clinton Township Chippewa Valley on Tuesday in a Division 1 district game at Macomb Dakota.

Stevenson gave Rutkowski all the runs he’d need with a four-run first inning, highlighted by Mark Kattula’s solo home run and a two-run double from Austin Owens. Rutkowski did the rest, walking just two in earning the victory.

Kattula was 2-for-3, while Zach Levans had a two-run double in the fourth inning.

Stevenson faces Utica Ford at 10 a.m. Friday.
