White Sox claim former Tiger Fields off waivers

Spring training is more than a month away and it can’t come soon enough for OF Daniel Fields.

Fields was claimed off waivers by the White Sox from the Dodgers on Thursday.

The White Sox will be Fields’ fourth team since the 2015 season ended.

Fields, 24, was designated for assignment by the Tigers, claimed and put on waivers by the Brewers, then claimed and put on waivers by the Dodgers.

Fields, the son of Tigers minor league coach Bruce Fields, hit .228 with seven homers and 41 RBIs at Toledo this past season. He played one game for the Tigers, getting a double, a run scored and two strikeouts in three times at bat.
