Tigers' J.D. Martinez ranked No. 9 left fielder in MLB

Buster Olney's series for ESPN on the top 10 players at each position continued Tuesday with left fielders, and he has the Tigers' J.D. Martinez ranked No. 9.

Olney on Martinez: "He was cut by the Astros on March 22 and wound up having a breakout season for the Tigers, with 56 extra-base hits in 123 games and an OPS+ of 149. Teammate Victor Martinez raves about his work ethic and thirst for knowledge."

Martinez hit .315 with 23 homers and 76 RBI in 441 at-bats in 2014.
