Detroit -- Right-handed reliever Al Alburquerque and the Tigers reportedly have agreed on a one-year contract, avoiding arbitration.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports wrote on Twitter that Alburquerque agreed to a deal worth $1.725 million. He could also earn another $12,500 if he makes 75 appearances.

Last season Alburquerque made a career-high 72 appearances for the Tigers, covering 57.1 innings. He was 3-1 with a 2.51 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. He struck out 63 and walked 21.
