Tigers' Cabrera gets CT scan, results due Wednesday
Lakeland, Fla. — The Tigers will wait one more day for a final, post-surgical progress report on Miguel Cabrera's right ankle.
Cabrera had a CT scan performed in Miami on Tuesday. The results will be reviewed by Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte, N.C., Wednesday.
Tigers president and general manager Dave Dombrowski said in a text message that the CT scan was normal and anticipated.
Cabrera had surgery to repair a stress fracture and remove bone spurs on his right foot and ankle Oct. 24. This is expected to be the final checkup and the Tigers are hoping Cabrera will be cleared to participate, at least to some degree, when spring training opens this weekend.
Dombrowski is expected to address the media regarding Cabrera Wednesday.
