Joe Jimenez has gone from being undrafted to becoming one of minor league baseball's brightest lights.

Jimenez, a 20-year-old Tigers prospect, was named to the World team's 25-man roster for the Futures Game on July 12 in Cincinnati.

Rosters for the World and U.S. teams were announced Thursday.

Jimenez is a 20-year-old right-hander who signed with the Tigers as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He's dominating the competition in Single A West Michigan, with a 3-1 record, a 1.69 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 211/3 innings. He has six saves.

"Jimenez can get his fastball up to 98 mph and mixes in a power slider," writes J.J. Cooper of Baseball America. "He has advanced control for a power pitcher of his age."
