Two ex-Tigers among Law's top prospects list

Keith Law of ESPN has a new, midseason top prospects list out, and there are no Tigers in his top 50.

There is, however, one former Tigers prospect in the top 50 (shortstop Willy Adames) and another ex-Tigers farmhand among Law's seven honorable mention players (pitcher Jake Thompson).

The Tigers traded Adames to the Rays last July in the deal that netted David Price. Adames, 19, is playing for the Rays' Class A affiliate in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Thompson, a 21-year-old right-hander, was drafted by the Tigers in the second round in 2012 but traded him, with Corey Knebel, to the Rangers last summer for Joakim Soria. Thompson is pitching for the Texas League (Double A) Frisco Roughriders.
