Tigers-Cubs lineups: Teams to wear 1945 throwback unis

The Detroit News

The Tigers conclude their two-game series with the Cubs on Wednesday at Wrigley Field (FSD/ESPN/1270 AM and 97.1 FM). First pitch is 8:05.

Both teams will be wearing 1945 throwback uniforms. The uniforms are part of a commemoration by the National WWII Museum of the 1945 World Series matchup between the Cubs and Tigers, which is the year World War II ended.

Left-hander Daniel Norris (2-2, 4.24 ERA) starts for the Tigers. Left-hander Jon Lester (8-8, 3.21) goes for the Cubs.

Norris is fourth start since coming over from the Blue Jays in the trade deadline deal for David Price. In his last outing, he allowed four runs, three earned, on six hits with three walks and two strikeouts in 6⅓ innings in a non-decision against the Royals on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez have the Cubs starter's number.

Cabrera is hitting .560 (14-for-25) with four doubles, a home run and four RBIs against Lester, while Martinez is batting .421 (8-for-19) with two doubles, one triple, a home run and four RBIs against the left-hander who was signed as a free-agent during the offseason.
