Detroit – To make room on the 40-man roster for Saturday's starting pitcher Randy Wolf, the Tigers released first baseman Marc Krauss, who was playing in Toledo.

Krauss, acquired off waivers from the Rays, played in 12 games for the Tigers. He hit a home run in his first at-bat and then went 4 for 32 before being sent to Toledo.

He was hitting .247 with no home runs at Toledo.

The Tigers made room on their 25-man roster by sending reliever Jose Valdez back to Toledo Friday night.
