MIS signs five-year agreement with NASCAR

NASCAR on Monday said it has signed five-year sanctioning agreements with 23 tracks that host Sprint Cup Series races, including Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Mich.

The deals mean the tracks will host their events through the 2020 seasons, although the actual race dates can change.

Race weekends at MIS in 2016 will be June 10-12 and Aug. 26-28. They August dates are later than usual.



Friday, June 10 -- ARCA Series race presented by Menards and Sprint Cup qualifying.

Saturday, June 11 -- NASCAR Xfinity Series race.

Sunday, June 12 -- NASCAR Sprint Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400 race.


Friday, Aug. 26 -- NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice and qualifying.

Saturday, Aug. 27 -- NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Careers for Veterans 200 race.

Sunday, Aug. 28 -- NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Pure Michigan 400 race.
