Former MSU star Green makes NBA All-Defensive first team

New York — Former Michigan State standout and Golden State forward Draymond Green was named to the NBA's All-Defensive first team. Green (Saginaw), who played at MSU from 2008-12, trailed only Defensive Player of the Year Kawhi Leonard of San Antonio in voting.
Leonard received 116 first-team votes and 242 points Wednesday from a panel of 129 writers and broadcasters in the U.S. and Canada. Green (Michigan State/Saginaw) was second with 229 points and 107 first-team votes.
Other first team members included Clippers teammates Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan and Tony Allen of Memphis.
The second team was New Orleans' Anthony Davis, Chicago's Jimmy Butler, Golden State's Andrew Bogut, Washington's John Wall and San Antonio's Tim Duncan.
