Lakers GM says Bryant could retire after next season
Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak told Sirius XM Radio Thursday the 2015-16 seasson will be Kobe Bryant's last.
"He has indicated to me that this is it," Kupchak told SiriusXM NBA Radio in a story reported by ESPN.com.
"I think first and foremost, he's on the last year of a deal," Kupchak said. "There have been no discussions about anything going forward. I don't think there will be.
"A year from now, if there's something different to discuss, then it will be discussed then,"
Bryant missed 123 games over the past two seasons. This past season ended early because of shoulder surgery and he has had knee surgery and a torn Achilles tendon.
Bryant, 36, will be in the final year of a two-year, $48.5 million contract.
