The Pistons agreed to a non-guaranteed contract with former No. 2 pick Hasheem Thabeet, according to a source.

First reported by ESPN, Thabeet, a center, spent last season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, his fourth team.

Thabeet went second in the 2009 NBA Draft but hasn't fulfilled his potential, having bounced around and spending stints in Portland and Houston in addition to his time in Oklahoma City and Memphis, the team that drafted him.

He spent time in the D-League, and is looking to work his way back into the league.

A strong showing in Pistons camp likely won't lead to a contract here, as the Pistons have Andre Drummond and Aaron Gray at center in addition to Greg Monroe, whose natural position is center but plays power forward.

Training camp begins next Tuesday in Auburn Hills.
