Pistons send Dinwiddie, Datome to Grand Rapids

It was a short stay for Spencer Dinwiddie.

The Pistons assigned the rookie guard, along with forward Luigi Datome, to Grand Rapids of the NBA Development League on Wednesday. Dinwiddie was recalled from Grand Rapids on Jan. 8.

Dinwiddie, drafted in the second round by the Pistons out of Colorado, has played in eight games for Detroit, averaging 3.0 points and 12.4 minutes per game. He's played in four games with the Grand Rapids Drive, averaging 16.0 points, 6.3 assists and four rebounds in 34 minutes.

Datome, signed as a free agent in 2013, has appeared in just one game for the Pistons this season, and 35 for his career, averaging 2.6 points and 1.3 rebounds in 7.1 minutes per game.
