Players the Pistons might consider with the No. 8 pick in the NBA draft:
Mario Hezonja, 6-8 guard Croatia
The Pistons could slide Hezonja to small forward or power forward on offense as he becomes a smaller stretch four. He gets hot at times but the Pistons would need to deal with his cold spells. He can also attack the basket.
Stanley Johnson, 6-7 forward, Arizona
The Pistons need more scoring wings and Johnson is a great option. He said he is the best player in the draft. He is also a good defender and has good size, something Van Gundy covets. If the Pistons don't select a shooting power forward Johnson should be their man if he is there.
Myles Turner, 6-11, C Texas
He has great length and is a true shot blocker. Turner can also drift out toward the perimeter and knock down 3-point shots.
Willie Cauley-Stein, 7-0 C, Kentucky
He will never be a great scorer but he could be the guy if the Pistons are thinking defense first.
Trey Lyles, 6-10 F, Kentucky
He is just getting started. He can shoot and he can defend. However, he carries around the most dangerous P word in sports. He has potential. Can he live up to it?
Sam Dekker, 6-9, F Wisconsin
The dude is a wild card. He can put the ball on the floor. He is athletic but must become more consistent from long range.
