Video pushes Drummond as All-Star

The Detroit News

Should Pistons center Andre Drummond earn a spot in the All-Star game, he could credit President Barack Obama with an assist.

Well, sort of.

The Pistons released a video Tuesday promoting their star big man for inclusion in the All-Star game on Feb. 14 in Toronto.

In it, President Obama makes his pitch for Drummond in a mash-up of speeches to the tune of Drake’s “Jumpman,” with highlights of Drummond mixed in.

In voting released Dec. 25, Drummond ranked third among frontcourt players in the Eastern Conference with 148,278 votes, trailing Cavaliers star LeBron James (357,937) and Paul George of the Pacers (283,785).

Drummond averages 18.1 points, 16 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots per game.
