The Backcourt: Pistons miss Reggie Jackson

The Detroit News

The Pistons (6-6) are 12 games in and this much can be said: They don't travel well and they sure do miss guard Reggie Jackson.

Panelists Rod Beard and John Niyo explore those and other topics during this edition of The Backcourt.

The Pistons are 1-6 on the road this season. The biggest difference is in how they play defense, surrendering 105 points to opponents on the road compared to 85.6 at The Palace. With Jackson out due to a wrist ailment and knee tendinitis, the team hasn't been able to run its pick-and-roll effectively.

Beard and Niyo analyze how Jackson's absence has directly affected the Pistons' offense and other issues facing Stan Van Gundy's club.

Key talking points:

► Van Gundy on the defensive gap between home and road - 1:15

► Van Gundy on issues with the offense - 4:55

► Andre Drummond on improving his free-throw shooting - 9:44

► Niyo and Beard take a look around the NBA - 13:32
