Former Lions coach Jim Schwartz will be working with officials next season instead of arguing with them.

Schwartz will work for the NFL next season as a consultant to officials. The report, which originated on Foxsports.com but was later confirmed by NFL.com, said Schwartz will provide a coach’s perspective on decisions made by officials.

Schwartz, who coached the Lions for five seasons before he was fired after the 2013 season, was the defensive coordinator for the Bills last season but was not retained by new Bills coach Rex Ryan.
