Broncos keys to victory
Josh Katzenstein of The Detroit News outlines four things the Broncos will have to do to defeat the Panthers.
Air-tight
The most important goal for the Broncos is to avoid turnovers. In their first two losses, QB Peyton Manning had six interceptions. In two postseason games, he has none.
Stay close
The Broncos must avoid an early deficit. If the Panthers get ahead by two touchdowns, the Broncos offense will struggle and become one-dimensional and easy to defend.
Bull rush
The Broncos must create a pass rush against Panthers QB Cam Newton. With OLBs DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller, the Broncos should be able to get into the backfield, but bringing down the 245-pound Newton won’t be easy.
Isn’t that special
As the underdog, the Broncos must win the special teams battle. If Emmanuel Sanders can flip the field on punt returns, the Broncos will have a better chance to win.
