Mobile, Ala. — Western Michigan wide receiver Corey Davis was one of several college stars to decline an invitation to the Senior Bowl.

But he had good reason, according to the event’s executive director Phil Savage. It turns out Davis is dealing with a shoulder injury.

Davis is considered one of the top receivers in the upcoming draft class. Listed at 6-foot-3, 213 pounds, he is the NCAA record holder for career receiving yards with 5,278.

He was the top offensive weapon for the Broncos team that went 13-1 last season, catching 97 passes for 1,500 yards and a nation-best 19 touchdowns.

The extent of Davis’ injury is unknown, but he is widely expected to go in the first round of the draft.
