Ex-UM scrapper Taylor Lewan wants NFL to allow fighting
If Saturday’s all right for fightin’, why not Sunday?
That’s what former Michigan star Taylor Lewan suggested in a tweet he posted this week.
“The @NFL should take a page out of the @NHL book and let us fight,” Lewan wrote on Twitter on Thursday.
Lewan, 25, a third-year offensive tackle for the Tennessee Titans, long has had a reputation for mixing it up on the field, earning his fair share of personal fouls. It was especially on display during the 2013 game against Michigan State when he was called for a face-mask against Isaiah Lewis. Lewan twisted the facemask while Lewis was on the ground.
Lewan, the 11th overall pick by the Titans in 2014, has been called for many fouls in the NFL, too.
Interestingly, though, he didn’t participate in a Titans-Broncos brawl late this past season.
After the game, Lewan told reporters, “I’ll definitely be in there next time.”
