The Philadelphia Eagles stand in the way of the New England Patriots' surge for six.

The Eagles and Patriots clash in Sunday night's Super Bowl, with New England looking to build on its dynasty, which has seen it win two of the last three Super Bowls, and five overall (all coming since 2002).

The Patriots are led offensively by former Michigan quarterback Tom Brady and defensively by the presumed next head coach of the Detroit Lions, defensive coordinator Matt Patricia.

Eagles win first Super Bowl, 41-33

A former Michigan player made the definitive play of Super Bowl 52, but it wasn't Tom Brady.

Late in the fourth quarter, with the Eagles clinging to a five-point lead and Tom Brady dropping back, Eagles linebacker Brandon Graham got to Brady and stripped him of the ball, allowing Philadelphia to pad their lead and drain critical time off the clock. A couple minutes later, when Brady's Hail Mary attempt hit the ground, the Eagles had won their first Super Bowl, 41-33, over the New England Patriots.

It was a game that felt like it had everything--except defense.

The teams combined for 1,152 yards, an NFL postseason record. At one point, play-by-play announcer Al Michaels described the game as "fast-break basketball on grass." There was only one punt in the entire game.

It would have been Brady's sixth Super Bowl, as his record in the big game falls to 5-3. He struggled through some inaccurate throws in the first half but still finished with 505 yards and three touchdowns in what will go down as one of the greatest quarterback performances in a Super Bowl, albeit in a loss.

Future Lions head coach and current Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia's unit struggled, allowing Nick Foles to throw for 373 yards and three touchdowns.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson gambled successfully several times, including going for it on fourth and goal in the first half and calling a pass play to Foles for a score.

The Patriots remain tied with the Cowboys and 49ers with five Super Bowl titles while the Steelers lead the NFL with six.
