Allen Park — Despite his 2-for-5 start on field goals this season, the Lions will stick with rookie kicker Nate Freese.

A seventh-round pick out of Boston College, Freese missed a 43-yard field goal in a Week 1 win over the New York Giants and two 49-yarders in a Week 2 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

The Lions responded to the early struggles by bringing in three veteran kickers — Alex Henery, Garrett Hartley and Rob Bironas — for a workout Tuesday, according to ESPN.

But on Wednesday, Caldwell said, “Yes,” when asked if Freese will be the kicker when the Lions host the Green Bay Packers at 1 p.m. Sunday at Ford Field.

“At this point in time, he is our guy,” Caldwell said. “He’s, I think, a young guy who has potential, but just like anything else in our business, it’s a performance business. And we all certainly understand that, and he understands it as well.”
