Down to just three healthy cornerbacks for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers, the Lions plan to promote undrafted rookie Mohammed Seisay from the practice squad on Saturday.
With Cassius Vaughn (ankle) out for the Week 3 game, Darius Slay, Rashean Mathis and Danny Gorrer are the only healthy cornerbacks remaining, though safety Don Carey can play in the slot, too.
The 6-foot-2 Seisay, who played at Nebraska, made the Lions' practice squad out of training camp after having an interception and playing well during the exhibition games.
Though he'd be behind the other three cornerbacks on the depth chart, Seisay has spent more time this year in the Lions defense than Gorrer, whom the Lions signed on Tuesday. Gorrer, though, did play for Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin when he was the defensive backs coach in Baltimore.
The Lions have yet to announce a corresponding roster move to make room for Seisay.
