Detroit News writers predict the outcome of the Lions' game Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons at Wembley Stadium in London.

Josh Katzenstein: This is a game the Lions should absolutely win, but that was the case with the Bills game they lost in Week 5. The difference is the Falcons defense has been horrendous the past four games, so the Lions should be able to win as long as Julio Jones doesn't have a historic performance. Lions 27-17

Rod Beard: The Lions have won both games against "elite" quarterbacks they've faced this year. Matt Ryan might not be in that category, but he can still give them fits, with receivers Julio Jones and Roddy White. The Lions are rolling, and the defense carries them again to a big win — and a 6-2 record heading into the bye week. Lions 27-14

Bob Wojnowski: The Falcons are 2-5 and their offensive line is beaten up and Matt Ryan has been shaky. So naturally, that makes them desperate and dangerous. The Lions are in strange territory — not just in London — with a top-rated defense, and it'll have a chance to dominate again. It needs to because quarterback Matthew Stafford and the running backs haven't done much behind the wobbly Lions offensive line. Lions 23-20

John Niyo: The Falcons are what the Lions used to be, with an explosive offense (in theory) and a dodgy defense, as the Brits would say. Atlanta's also a desperate team right now. But against that patchwork offensive line, the Lions 'D' should feast. Lions 27-14
