Calvin Johnson says he wasn't affected by elbow injury
Glendale, Ariz. — Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson suffered an elbow injury in Sunday's 14-6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
After most of Johnson's teammates left the locker room, Johnson was behind a curtain for about 15 minutes undergoing treatment, but said he doesn't expect the injury to keep him sidelined next week against the New England Patriots.
"I'll be all right," he said.
Johnson finished with just five catches for 59 yards on 12 targets. All of Johnson's statistics were team highs for a Lions team that gained just 183 yards through the air and 262 total. Led by cornerbacks Patrick Peterson, Antonio Cromartie and Jerraud Powers, the Cardinals secondary made it difficult for Detroit's receivers to find openings.
"They played their butts off," Johnson said of Arizona's cornerbacks. "It was tough; it was a physical game. They just played a good game. We've just got to get better."
Johnson, who missed three games this year with an ankle injury, said his elbow injury didn't limit him in the game, and he finished the game despite the new ailment.
"I was out there all day, man," he said.
