Washington State DT Xavier Cooper visits Lions

Xavier Cooper started 34 of 36 games in three seasons at Washington State.

The Lions continued their draft preparation Tuesday by hosting former Washington State defensive tackle Xavier Cooper.

The 6-foot-3, 293-pound Cooper performed well at the combine with a 4.86-second 40-yard dash, 29 reps on the bench press, a 29-inch vertical and a 110-inch broad jump.

Cooper was a three-year starter for the Cougars and had 13 sacks and 31.5 tackles for loss before choosing to enter the draft and forgo his senior season. ESPN ranks him the No. 18 defensive tackle prospect and a likely third-day pick.
