Quite a catch: Lions' Calvin Johnson engaged

Soon, Brittney McNorton can go by the moniker of Mrs. Megatron.

Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson proposed to his girlfriend this week in Baltimore when the couple was in town for the Ed Block Courage Award ceremony, Johnson and McNorton told the Baltimore Sun.

In a video posted on the paper's site, McNorton explains the story of how he popped the question with a wide smile and her fiancee happily peering over she shoulder.

"It's been a very enjoyable, very memorable trip out here in Baltimore this year for many reasons," Johnson said in the video.

Johnson's engagement comes nearly a year after Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and Kelly Hall got engaged. Johnson, though, proposed at Baltimore's Inner Harbor on McNorton's birthday, and while that's romantic, it's unlikely to earn a free catering offer like Stafford received after celebrating his engagement at a Cold Stone Creamery.

Stafford and Hall will be wed on April 4. When Johnson and McNorton, who works for the Lions, will have their wedding remains unknown.
