Campus police at Central Florida, where Smith attended, say Smith was being questioned about a car accident he was involved in and tried to walk away from the officer, according to TMZ.

Smith was taken to a nearby jail where he was charged with resisting arrest.

Smith played five seasons in Detroit (2008-2012), rushing for 2,346 yards and 17 touchdowns, and catching 123 passes for 1,082 yards and five touchdowns.
