Allen Park — The Lions wrapped up their pre-draft visits Wednesday with three other prospects visiting team headquarters.
And two of the visitors — Washington defensive tackle Danny Shelton and LSU offensive lineman La'el Collins — are both likely first-round picks.
With Shelton, Collins and Louisville offensive lineman Jamon Brown in Allen Park, the Lions have now welcomed all 30 of their allotted pre-draft visits this year.
The 6-foot-2, 339-pound Shelton is considered by many analysts to be the second-best defensive tackle prospect behind USC's Leonard Williams. Shelton is strong, especially against the run, and has good body movement for his size. He likely won't be on the board when the Lions pick at No. 23, but they wanted to check him out because he plays a position of long-term need.
The 6-foot-4, 305-pound Collins could be on the board when the Lions pick as there's really no consensus on the order of the top offensive linemen. Collins played left tackle the past two years, but his best position in the NFL could be at guard. The Lions are hoping to improve the offensive line in the draft and need a left guard.
The 6-foot-4, 323-pound Brown played left tackle the last two years. ESPN ranks him the No. 18 tackle in the draft and a likely Day 3 pick.
