Calvin Johnson among Lions' inactives vs. Washington

Landover, Md. — The Lions are still keeping Calvin Johnson in the proverbial bubble wrap this preseason.
Though he's completely healthy, the Lions announced the star wide receiver among the players that will not participate in tonight's exhibition against Washington at FedEx Field. Johnson also sat last week's game, and in 2014, he only played in the third preseason contest.
In addition to Johnson, the five Lions players who did not practice in training camp — offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle, defensive tackle Haloti Ngata, defensive end Jason Jones, running back Joique Bell and cornerback Alex Carter — are inactive.
Wide receiver Lance Moore is also out and didn't make the trip due to the birth of his baby girl Wednesday.
With Johnson sitting, the only lineup change to the Lions' unofficial depth chart is Corey Fuller starting at wide receiver. Veteran cornerback Rashean Mathis was a healthy scratch last week, but is active tonight.
For Washington, wide receiver DeSean Jackson and Jamison Crowder, offensive tackle Trent Williams, defensive end Frank Kearse, tight end Jordan Reed, cornerbacks DeAngelo Hall and Bashaud Breeland, and linebackers Will Compton, Junior Galette and Ryan Kerrigan are out.
