The Lions made transactions with a couple of their young injured players Monday.

Tight end Jordan Thompson, who suffered a significant knee injury in Thursday’s exhibition against Washington, cleared waivers and is now on the team’s injured reserve list, which means he won’t count against the 90-man roster.

The Lions also waived rookie linebacker Kevin Snyder with an injury after he hurt his hand in Thursday’s game. They could add Snyder to injured reserve Tuesday if he clears waivers.

The 6-foot-4, 256-pound Thompson is in his second season with the Lions after going undrafted out of Ohio. He spent most of 2014 on the practice squad but appeared in two games after a wave of injuries hit the tight end group.

The Lions signed Snyder after he went undrafted out of Rutgers this year.
